The Dallas Mavs visited UNT for the pre-season training camp last week, and as a thank you they held a scrimage game for FREE for UNT students... I took some pix with my crappy camera phone, and these two are probably the best ones...

(LtoR)#34 - Devin Harris (he's reallly cute up close!!) #11 - Jose Barea (rookie, who is quite short compared to the rest of the team.. but that fool is fast!!!) #41 - Dirk (overrated) #25 - Erick Dampier (also.. very cute up close)

And just cuz I couldnt resist =P .. There was this HUGE mob outside after the game, so I decided to hang out at the top of the arena and take pix and watch from above.

oh hell i might as well update too..
In two weeks time school starts. And.. I'm so EFFIN scared that I cant believe this happening. Its similar to that feeling you got as a little kid right before going onto a big ride at an amusement park... you're a little bit scared, a little bit excited, but overall you are so ready to get it over with and the wait is killing you!!!
My sister and cousin moved out of the house so now I have to move back into the other rooms. I also dont have a bed as of yet, and have claimed the living room couch as my own. Do I need to elaborate on how much that sucks?
LIving at home has officially gone sour. I'm gonna have to try really really hard to make it through the next year or two. Either that or immerse myself in school so much that I dont have time to even think about home life.
I like the latter of the two.
I really miss Sherman right now and as most of my friends start to head back, I see more and more people online and their away messages are saying things like "BACK in shertown!" or similar. Either that or they finally have to pay for internet and dont have their computers on, lol. *sigh*
Can't wait for my student loan check to come in.. I need money right now so badly... to pay off my other loans!! Austin College should be billing me within the next few months for the $600 I owe them...
lameeeeeeeeeeeeeeee
School should be free!

Ho hum and a bottle o' Rum.....
Wendy and I celemebrated her 21st birthday twice this week..twas pretttty fun!! Yesterday we checked out this place in West Village called TomTom.. they have $1 sushi every Thur. from 4-8 and it was crazy yummy. We then went to Mi Cocina and indulged in mango margaritas ($10 a glass!!! sheezy) and flautitas... can we say calorie?
We saw the midnight show of Pirates of the Caribbean DOS.. it was sooooo good. I love Orlando uber much. :D
I got my ears pierced again, so now I have two holes in each ear.. it hurt!!!!!!
And, in short summary, I have: seen Devil Wears Prada, started taking a HipHop class, still havent dyed my hair, and am working on my sewing box.. all while taking my relatives shopping, working at the restaurant, taking care of my brother, taking care of my 18 YEAR OLD LAZY ASS SISTER, and doing misc. chores around the house.
tada.

| A Les Mis Adventure! |
[27 Jun 2006|12:14am] |
Sorry Wendy!
So, Saturday, Wendy, Joy, and I went to see Les Mis at Fair Park.. this was my first time seeing it on stage and also it was the first time that I had heard the music in a while. I think the last time was in middle school (7th grade) in music class. I remember that one song in the entire set always stayed in my memory, and hearing it on stage was very very refreshing! [On My Own - sung by Eponine (sp?)] It was reallllly good... all characters were performed very well, but I didnt particularly enjoy Cosette (adult). Jean Valjean was played by his understudy, but still put on a spectacular performance in "Bring Him Home" [I think thats what its titled?]. Course, I had nothing to compare him to, so the lead actor may actually have been way better.
Ahhh.. viva la revelucion!

Holy schnitzel its been a while since I updated this bitch.
Hmmm lets see.. I went to NM/El Paso, TX for a week, it was fun, ask me for stories.
I think I've gained 5 lbs since summer started due to the surge in eating for fear that good food will disappear... when in truth I have nothing to worry about since I'll be living at home for the next four years -__-;;;
My auntie and cousin are here... cousin is going to SMU for law school in the fall so shes here to "adapt" of sorts.
My sister is getting a new car and actually gets to choose what she wants. I, on the other hand, got a call with "hey we got you a car, its green" and it turned out to be the POS that I drive now.... apparently this month is the last month for payments so now I actually OWN the damn thing.
I work Tuesdays/Sundays for my parents. No wage, just tips.
I hate waitressing.
And, for the first time this year, I am stress free. Most of you think that I am ignoring you and/or avoiding you of some sort, but thats not true. I'm enjoying my summer before grad school, so please, dont take it personally.

Soooo I'm back.
I'm about $200 in the hole.
I have a fantastic tan.
I have three new shot glasses (M&M, Bellagio *grin*, and a Disneyland one etched with my name).
My feet have been through the hell of being swollen, bruised, and nastified (courtesy of Las Vegas streets).
I didnt see any celebrities =[
Nor did ANYONE check my ID in vegas. I was veeeeeerrry disappointed.
The most drinking I did was the weak pina colada in the souvenir cup in Vegas.
I had three nights of Thai food in CA. =]
I drove 20+ hours to get from CA to TX in one night. BLAH.
I went to my first FCUK store and bought a purse but not FCUK shirt. Le sigh.
:::: Picture post later ::::
yayyyy :)

Everyone asks me the same generic question. "What is it like to be a college graduate?". And honestly, I have no answer.
Graduation passed by in a blur. It was hot, I saw so many people that I wanted to hug goodbye, I received unexpected hugs from people who I thought I had cast out of my life forever, and did not take nearly enough pictures.
I had no idea what to say to these people who I would not see for a while, if ever. Thanks for the good times? Its been great knowing you?
What do I say? All I could do was smile. So many pictures, so many memories. Every picture has a story to it, and I think that as I look back on my life as a college student, I'll think of all those times.
I dont really know what to say, other than I feel like I'm too grown up in some ways for many of the things I used to do. I feel like I need to transition from college student to graduate student, and that in itself is scaring the shit out of me.
Its like I have to close the door on a chapter of my life, but I've lost the strength to pull it shut.
A lot has changed in the last 5 days. Not only did I graduate, I am now the proud owner of an iPod. I also worked at the restaurant for 3 days straight and earned a net total of about $200. My sister bought me a Mavs buildabear, which makes me smile. :) I leave for Vegas/CA in 8 days, I turn 21 in 4.
When did life get so crazy???

What an interesting weekend..
The chemistry dept threw a banquet for the graduating seniors.. and I sat with my arch nemesis and my favorite professor of all time at the same table.
Rushed home to see my lovelies at the after-show party. I heart champagne and snacks.
Came back to Sherman on Saturday..
Went to dinner with Stephanie and company. As I was getting into the car, the car door swung back and hit me in the face. The result of this terrible event is a nice sized bruise on my cheek. I think I'll lie to people and tell them I got into a fight.
Final Blowout was that night.. and I had a lot of fun. This was probably due to the excessive amount of alcohol I took in before the party, which made the bus ride and party itself tolerable and amusing.
After we came back from the party.. thats when things started to SUCK. Ask me for the full story.
Oh.. 6 more days!!!!! =]

So I guess its time for me to update this shin dig..
April has finally gotten here. You know what that means? Almost five weeks until graduation. FIVE. I am so scared.. and afraid of what I'll be doing in the event that I dont get an offer for graduate school.
UNT called me today, to tell me that my application is circulating among the committee. Apparently, it will take somewhere between two hours to two days to let me know their decision. I told the secretary that she had made me nervous, because for the next few days I will be going crazy with not knowing.
At Austin College, the majority of my friends are juniors and seniors. Looking around today, I realized that I am going to miss everyone here. As all of my friends print out Fall schedules, and plan out what they're doing this summer, I feel somewhat left out. Its not that I actually want to go through all that again, lol. But.. at the same time its a little bittersweet to know that I will be leaving behind all of this.
The memories I've made here are some of the best in my life. From studying in the student center until 3 in the morning, to walking back from parties and running into admin [who were also drunk mind you], to leading freshmen, to presenting to the entire chemistry department, to interacting with creepy sherman folks.... I'll never forget it all!
Well, heres to a great rest of the month! =]
